Help- RSD now in eyes?

Hi, I'm new to the forum, but not to rsd. Have had it since 1996-now full body.
But just this past 10 days or so starting having burning in my eyes, besides burning, there is stinging like razor blades, and then extreme tearing. The spells are several times a day and the tearing is so bad, can't see until the spells stop.
Does anyone have this or know of anyone? I no longer see my neurologist of 6-7 years treating me, as he doesn't take any insurance and costs $250 an hour and I had to stop seeing him. I get on medicare in May-turn 65. So have to start from scratch to find someone. My primary care has little understanding of rsd. Thanks for listening. darlene

Re: Help- RSD now in eyes?

Hi again, the spells in eyes continue. Just realized something, About two weeks ago, I had a meltdown and bad crying spell. The next day, my eyes were swollen, I used crushed ice in a ziploc to get swelling down. Not remembering ice is a no no for most of us with rsd-causing spread. I've had rsd since 1996 -now full body- but No involvement in the eyes. It was after the ice, I started having these burning, stinging, razor blades, and extreme tearing spells. Anyone have any thoughts? Will see an eye specialist. Thanks, darlene

Re: Help- RSD now in eyes?

As you know from my other post, I'm not diagnosed with RSD, but I've done a ton of research on it lately since I feel that I have it. The cold sets my pain off big time so I would think that if you had put ice on your eyes and your RSD already affects your whole body that that could indeed be the reason for the eye burning and pain. I went to a Mardi Gras parade the other night and it was getting very chilly, by the time I went home, I could barely move my limbs due to the cold and it felt like razor sharp little pricks everywhere on my body followed by the inevitable burning sensation later on in bed. I would logically think it could affect your eyes the same way since you directly applied the ice to your eyes. I'm not a doctor of course, just going off what I've researched. I may or may not be wrong.

Did you go to your GP or eye doc to make sure it's not from some other issue?

Re: Help- RSD now in eyes?

I have had rsd since 2005 in my left leg and arm. Have wondered about the jaw and eyes. I had to have a double mastectomy last october due to invasive ductal carcinoma, a radical one on the left side, and now of course I have nerve pain across the chest too. My eyes hurt quite a bit and when they tear, like you, I have to wait until they are done to see. I have not been diagnosed with rsd in my face or eyes, or chest for that matter, but, I am thinking it is only a matter of time. I have just got the judges orders for the last time wc refused to pay for a medical bill, and as usual it was in my favor. We have been to the appeallate courts and even the supreme court because wc kept appealing and I suppose I will be getting to go again soon as I will always have doctor bills regarding my rsd. Good luck to you, hugs as soft as fleece wendy
