I know about the mental and physical exams needed before the scs surgery. I've been to medtronics website and I've talked to 6 Dr's about this.
The Dr who was gonna do the surgery called me today to say since WC has denied it and it will now be medicaid that he will not do it, simply because medicaid does not pay enough of the bill.
Yes I know this is a last resort. I'm on the max dose of meds. I've been given a walker now.
I just dont know what else i am supposed to do, or who else to go to for help

Hi Nancy,

I'm sorry you're feeling so down right now. Can you maybe try to find another doctor who might take what Medicaid gives him? Maybe try to contact Medicaid and ask them if they have any suggestions? I've never dealt with Medicaid so I can't tell you from experience...just trying to come up with some ideas. One other idea...maybe contact an RSD organization...maybe they can come up with some ideas to help you. Good luck.

Nancy I don't know what state yu are in but my hubby had last August a "SCS" implant for his (r) foot/leg...He is scheduled for a dual "SCS" implant on the 23rd of this month...we are in Maine and medicaid approved and paid (what i have no idea how much!!!) but we were not refused because of the amount the doc would receive...Maybe find a pain specialist that works with the hospitals and maybe this would not be a problem. He is having the dual implant done because the "RSD" has apparently wanted to do the same as the injured side...LOL gotta love this ole "RSD" thing!!!...Good luck in finding a doc...they are out there....
