| New to board with TOS and RSD
Hello all, I would like to offer well wish's all who have rsd and the family's that live with rsd.
My wife was bounced off a staircase after the landing broke at a hotel we were staying at in Oct. of 04', she fell hard on her back and elbows. the right elbow was jambed into the shoulder area causing fractured clavicle, seperated shoulder, herniated disc at c-5 c-6 and bulging disc in the lumbar. After a few months of nagging the doc's we found she had thoracic outlet syndrom with need for immediate surgery for a constriction in her sub clavian area. Surgery was June 6, they went in through the armpit and took out her first rib, moved the ulnar nerve over so it would not be damaged during the rib resection and went in and cleaned out all the scalene muscle that was attached to the first rib, went up and cleaned all the bands (scar tissue)off of the vein's causing constriction, then he put the nerve back sewed her up and said she would be like new, advised us of a feeling of numbness for a few and said it would go away, It never did in fact it became the fire from hell, so we go to the Pain Clinic, have a few stellate ganglian nerve blocks and last week the pain doc tells us she for sure has RSD and now we are at the RSD diagnosis, entire right arm from the shoulder down is on fire, no cloths, no touch, NO AC for sure, and ya'll know the rest. We are going for more blocks and anything else we can do. Will try to keep you posted as each block and procedure we do. We re scheduled for another operation the first of Oct. at which time he is going to go in from the top of her clavicle and remove more scar tissue, we just found this out today.
