along with need for B/p med refill I went to my Family practioner because I thought I had a spider bite.
Now, my rsd is in my left foot and leg (stemming from one or both knee sugeries. I have that ugly red motteling on left leg and lower back onto hips all the way across. Sat I noticed what I thought was a spider bite on my left butt cheek (googled that ...scarry) anyway I asked the md about "bite" she looked at it and said "oh, thats just a little herpes no big deal" I went balistic
I have been married to the same wonderfull man for 7 yrs and I know in my heart of hearts that he has not strayed. Needless to say my emotional state all I heard was you have herpes ( although she did say it was'nt the bad kind.
huh, did anyone know there was a good kind of herpes???) while MD did not do a culture -because I dont have ins. and she was trying to save me money-she perscribed a tube of med that cost $150.00 adding insult to injury. Sooooo, I get home ,just as my poor husband is leaving for work and just blurt out "I have herpes and my B/P was 180/120. poor guy, was just stunned - and had to leave for work. so ,after a had a complete breakdown
( i, dont know how we arent all locked up) took my meds and several deep breathes -I googled herpes- everything kept going back to the nervous system and stress . neither of us ( he is 41 and I 46) have ever had herpes or any other std and due to pain and meds we have had sex maybe 3-4 times in the last year . skin lesions???? anyone ??? the area on my butt where my "bite " is is not motteled. hepl! ROBBIN

Okay, I have had RSD for years. I get the same sores all over my face and sometimes on my arms and legs. They get really bad, take forever to heal and leave scars. My husband is a chiropractor and is currently treating an RSD patient. This poor guy has the sores ALL over his hiney. He just went to disability court and I swear, he dropped his drawers to show the judge just how bad they were. Now THAT would be embarrasing. So I think the sores are just par for the course. I can tell you that I started taking fish oil supplements about 6 months ago. My sores were CHRONIC before that and now I just get them occassionally and they don't last as long or scar as bad. I swear by the stuff so you might want to try it. And tell your husband...you don't have herpes for pete's sake. There are a lot of us here that have had these sores and it just goes along with this monster disease!!

Robbin...Calm Down...it's ok

I have had the lesions. They look like pimples. My Dr. told me to keep them clean and once healed to make sure I keep my skin well moisturizied.

I also have had shingles twice since RSD. The shingles are very painful. I hope you don't have them.
Please call your poor husband....and tell him everything is ok. Dee

I am seeing more and more I get them on the other side of my RSD! My entire left side is covered with them their sore & they ooze of this clear fliuid, they hurt even to have clothes to touch them! I have about 5 of them now on my left side of my face. I have just now started to take the fish oil gel caplets so I pray they will do some good..take some deep breathes Robbin it's what we have to live with!!

i dont know wether to be glad ,mad or just plain sad for all of us . to tell someone something like that especially someone who'stress and emotional state you know is already compromised. I know Dr. cant know everything there is to know about everything out there-but when you have a patient that you know has something they are seeing a specialist for -would you not like ,check it out a little further before a something like a herpes dx.
I was just devasted-my husband didnt know what to say or do and I know you cant help but to "go there " for a least a little bit. If we( in the words of MJ Blige) hadnt been "too strong for too long" this could have been a deal breaker-especially with all we've been thru.I am so very fortunate.he is my silver lining.
