RSD and counseling

I think its obvious that depression comes along side by side with rsd for a lot of people. But can going to a counselor help with that? i mean i was in counseling for an eating disorder and it did help. but that is some psychological, rsd is not. so can counseling really help with the pain people fell from rsd?

Re: RSD and counseling

Hi Amber....It's good to see you posting. Can't wait to see if your scs will work for you. Stay postive. I bet it is driving you crazy that you can't use it. That what would happen to me the battery would go dead. LOL

As for seeing a counselor...I believe it is a good idea. I really thought I could deal with everything that was going on in my life. But once I got real with myself I wasn't really dealing with it...I was keeping alot deep down in side. Just being able to take someone not related was nice. And the counselor was able to teach me some bio-feed back and relaxing things that can really help when the pain is bad. Make sure you feel comfortable with the couselor. Because if you don't I feel you won't get anywhere. You may what to sit down with your parents and tell them you are thinking a counselor may help you. I know there are different kinds of therapist so maybe the others here may think a different kind may be better for you, because of your age. I wish you the best. I really hope the SCS just takes almost all your pain away. And off you go. Keep us posted. I think of you often. Remember to stay postive...Hugs, Dee
