well guys

Its offical... My doc Dx'd me today with RSD. Im currently waiting approval for a PM doctor and hopefully things will start to look up from here. Funny thing is W/C had a "nurse" waiting on me in the lobby without my knowledge. She approached me and started asking me questions and then said she wanted to be in the room with me while the doctor examined me. I told her no and that she could wait just like everyone else.

My doctor instantly knew what was up and when he came in the room told me "I know what they are up to and I am on your side". As soon as we were finished she stood by the exam room and questioned my doctor and he told her his findings and I taped the whole conversation on my cell phone.

Sounds like a battle with the insurance company is about to begin. But my doc told me not to worry that he would always make sure I had pain meds and would not suffer do to the negligence of these jerks. I am really thankful to this man and would suggest him to anyone in the future... shows he's not iin it for the money and that he truly cares.

Well I will keep you all posted as things here unravle and go on with it.

thank you all for your in formation and compassion!

Hi Jon,

Well...you kind of knew, right? Now you have a diagnosis and can get on with it.

That's something about the worker's comp "nurse." So sneaky! I'm glad the doc is on your side. You definitely need that.

Hang in there.

Sharon

Re: well guys

THIS IS PART 1

Yeah real sneaky. It made me well... not so nice... I questioned her asked for creditials and I did NOT shake her hand. And then she went on to explain she is my case management nurse. I pulled out my mini lap-top and reascherd her company. They are there to help the insurance company "streamline costs" and make approvals.

After learning this in front of her face. I said "So your the one thats going to be giving me problems. Nice to know the face of my enemy". She then proceeded to ask if I would answer questions and I replied to her only when I got hurt and the doctors I have seen for it. Then she had the nerve to ask and ask again if she could sit in the doctors exam while I was examined. I told her she had no buisness in the exam room and if she want information about my medical status to take it up with my doctor and get my medical records.

The nurse (my doctors) nurse called my name and she followed me like she was my mother. I stopped her at the exam room door and told her to take a seat outside and wait like everyone else. My doc came in and for the first 15 mins talked to me about W/C and how evil they are and told me 2 or 3 stories about how he has dealt with them in a not so nice manner and got people who were denied treatment authorized. I should share them if anyone is interested in hearing the lengths he has gone to help people out. Then proceeded to ask how my last month has been and symptoms and then looked at my leg and said You have RSD no doubt. And then explained that I needed a PM doctor I told him about one That I knew of and would like to see he happily agreed to refer me to her. After we were done discussing getting to a PM doc ASAP. he told me to step out with him and stand by his side.

We exited the exam room and she was on him like a fat kid on a cup cake. My cell phone has a voice/video record feature so I held it up and annouced that I am taping this conversation. She asked about my DX and went on asking how he knew for sure it was RSD (wich angered him i could tell). He responded in a professional but in a not-so-nice mannner. And clearly stated his credentials as a MD. She asked if he thought it could have been from another injury somewhere else and he stated no that (my Job) accident caused this to come about. well this went on for about 5 mins and then he told her "I have other patients and you have come un-annouced good bye" and then turned to me shook my hand and said call him if I need anything.

As I hobbled out she followed me asking questions. like "How did you know of this PM doc?" "Why is it you know so much about RSD?" I told her the internet is a wealth of information and that she should try it sometime. I then told her anymore information she needed to know is in my medical files and she can take the time to get them herself and I walked on to my car. SHE STILL KEPT FOLLOWING ME! I told her if your wanting more information its in my medical files and any more questions you have for me, you can wait until I have proper legal counsel since I feel you are out to work against me.
She then said she is just trying to figure out what is going on. I told her to leave as you are now "Stalking" me. And then she finally left.

Hi Jon,

That is unbelievably obnoxious! I can't imagine the nerve she had to first ask you if she could go in the room with you and then after you said "no," trying to follow you in anyway. Wow! I'm also sorry you or anyone dealing with WC has to deal with this stuff.
