| Re: Should I get a nerve block if my pain is minimal
This is a hard question. Unfortunately only you can make that decision. I was frustrated in the beginning because Dr's don't know what you are talking about or know less than you do and you don't know which way to turn. It also depends what kind of block. Sympathetic etc. That one is mainly for diagnostic. I had 2 sympathetic. 1st one helped, 2nd one not too much. If you are not in much pain then you need to weigh this out. I was told by someone with 20yrs experience with this illness that Blocks/Physio + proper pain medication are the keys to success. You are very lucky like me to have been diagnosed so quickly. Treat this agressively, LEARN as much as you can about this because let me tell you that the medical community does not know enough to help you. You have to take care of yourself. My sympathetic blocks ended up giving me pain in my hip and the epidurals have shifted some vertebrae's. I am fine. Blocks are important and need to be done so not to scare you, but just share some info with you. We have the best chance of remission, but I am 16 months in and MUCH better but I wouldn't claim remission.
Hope this helps you
