Hi, my name is Shannon and I am new to this message board but unfortunatly I am not new to rsd. I have had RSD for about 3 1/2 years, full body for about 2 years.
I have a question that I am really hoping that someone can answer for me or at least say that they have also experienced the same thing. I have not had my period for 6-8 months now and I am too young for it just to be menopause, I am 34. Plus I don't have any other symptoms that would indicate an early menopause.
I know that there is some level of pain but who knows how much... the rsd meds may not do much for rsd but they do tend to mask other pain.
I would just like to know if anyone knows if this could be just another side effect or result of this monstorous disease.

I do miss my periods from time to time! It may be sometimes 3 months than i get them regular again?? I thought maybe it was the neurontin?? I have found no proof to it?? But i am a little older than you! (49) But until i got RSD mine were pretty regular??

That finally makes sense! I was diagnosed in spring 2000 and wondered why my period had disappeared with none of the menopause symptoms. I've had 2 periods a month since my daughter was born, no one knew why, and then all of a sudden, gone! Makes sense. RSD has messed up my health so bad, what's one more thing? I will ask my doc about it, but until I read your posting, I'd never connected the two!!

This has happened to me too and it's totally scary because because I'm a teenager and I've had my period regular for years. But I've only had RSD for 2 months and it only affects my foot and ankle. How could this have happened so fast?
