Hi dayton

Yeah 9 minutes??? Had surgery on a mortons neuroma in my foot in sept. I had it done by a podiatrist and I am suing him. I did sign a release for the surgery, but not for him to do it in 9 mins. I am suing him for negleget with damages and possible mal practice, cause my lawyer called another lawyer and he has 6 cases against my doc just in the 2002-2003 year. NOw where ilive we have tons of lawyers so imagine how many he has against him and my lawyers siad that the only reason we all dont konw about them is because they are not on his lisence bc he settles out of court so they dont go on his record. He is trying to move to FL ( im in NY) but since i have served him papers he is stuck here..lol soo we will see what goes on. My lawyer says i should at least get something for the surgery only taking 9 mins and now that he has triggered the RSD i wont be able to do much and he siad i will be able to get all my back wages in the past 10 mos that ihave lost too!! SOo. . if an when it all happens.. i will be happy..

Geez, Good Luck Brynn! My husband "Ramrod" Joe's RSD was triggered by the Morton's Neuroma, but I don't have any info as to how long the surgery took or if it is the Othropedists fault....do you think so? He's still our Dr., although I'm planning on finding someone new since he doesn't seem very up to date on his RSD facts.....but if we actually accused him of causing this, wouldn't he just say that it is a rare side effect of surgery and a risk that we took?

Good luck with suing the podiatrist. I hope it works out for you.

My father-in-law went to a podiatrist to have an ingrown toenail removed. 6 months later, it was infected so bad, they removed his leg up to the knee. 4 months ago, they removed the rest of his leg.

Podiatrists in my opinion should not be doing any type of surgery.

A podiatrist did my ankle surgery BOTH times! Oh well, it is what it is.....

I've had 2 ingrown townails & a bunion removed by podiatrists - all came out wonderful. Many years ago I worked for a podiatrist that specialized in surgery. I had the opportunity to observe a number of procedures and know that many only take a few minutes. Due to the size of the foot, there isn't a lot of tissue to go through to get to the problem area (unlike limbs/abdomen). I know there are a lot of podiatrists out there that should not be doing surgery, but as in every profession, there are good and bad. - Shelley
