Post Back from docs.....

Well I guess you can say ihave good news adn bad news..

Saw my doc today and he took out my staples and thinks i might have an infection along one of my leads in my stim , but ihave been on a antibiotic since the surg, so he has me taking it for another week..lol

He looked at my foot and said it looks little bit better, except my toes are dark blue and purple and got worse as he watched them and as i sat in the exam room. My heal also turned blue and he wasnt happy at that so he had me turn my stim way uup to see what it did and it only took some of the coloring away but it came back after a while...go figure..

So he told me that hes not giving up on me! So he is going to have my stim readjusted on wend. To see what he can get it to do. Then I will see my doc in a month so i can heal and play with the power of my stim and see what i can get it to do. Then he said he has a couple of things up his sleaves..lol

One he thinks that i will need to have a pain pump implanted as well.. so he can put meds directly into my spinal cord and have that andn the stim work together!! Or he will do a surg that will put in a , i guess , like a plate that will give me better coverage with the stim. he had 2 more that he named off but i cant remember them right off... But he said that the last resort will be a sympathectomy both bc of my age and the side effects and the sucess of them. sooo.. ???

He also told me to get a med alert braclet bc of the stim and RSD. So i am looking on the net to find a resonable price one thats looks kinda girly..lol.

But i guess it was a good visit other than that he told me that he doesnt want me to have my foot surg (so it will lay flat) yet and he doesnt want to rush into untill this is undercontroll so it looks like that surg will be in sept or oct??

Ohh my mom drove me up to the appt (bc his office is an hour awayfrom my house) and bc i couldnt drive untill gave me the OK.. So my mom parked my car in back of a nother one on the street and when we got out, she got me a prking ticket! this isthe 2nd one she has gotten with my car! Its only 10$ but still.. its reason for it was bc it was even odd day parking on the one way street.. jeepers, there were 10 other cars onthe same side as we were.. guess she filled her quota for the month then..lol.. ok.. gotta go.. ttyl.. hope everyone is doing good!

Byrn,

Just keep a close eye on your incision. I have been there.

If you get symtoms like the flu call your dr. asap.

Boy you had a big day at the dr.s. I hope you have some luck with the stimulator.

Take care
Cattys

Cool

Hi Brynn!

I have a morphine pump and I like it a lot. As I told you before, I also had a sympathectomy and I don't recommend that AT ALL! I have not read about anybody who had RSD and also had a sympathectomy and was cured. There are so many side effects that I wasn't told about and on top of that, it didn't work!

Wow, what a day you had Angel! I'm exhausted just reading about it. I was wondering since you have RSD in your foot, do you use a cane? Are you able to get around? I have it in my foot and walk with a limp. Do you have PT? You may have answered these questions before but forgive me if you have 'cause I've forgotten. Thanks and take care. Get some rest today!!
