Post vACATION

i WILL BE GOING on vacation from July 4 through July 18th to Ohio. I'm really afraid of being away from my doc. I only take neurotin and elavil. Can anybody tell me what to expect? Will the symptoms decrease because of less stress? what if I have a severe relapse there? Anybody know any docs in Ohio??? hubby is not going, can't stand inlaws so I will be alone with just mom and two cats!! kind of looking forward to it, but its' a 2 1/2 hour flight. makes me legs hurt just thinking about that part.

I find that when I leave the house for a long time, a get a lot of pain. Make sure you get lots of sleep!!!!! That's what made mine whose in my right foot. Get plenty of rest or the RSD will flare up and you won't have any energy to do anything.

Dayton,

Try and relax, try not to get yourself all worked up. Can you call your Dr. and explain to him that you are going away and if you should encounter any problems if you could call his office and mabe they could call you in a script or something.

Try and enjoy yourself while you are away. That in itsellf will bring your pain levels down.

Best of luck, and have fun.

Dayton I sure hope you enjoy your vacation.

From all that you write, it seems like you hate your job and homelife (at least with your husband). You really need to get away, unless you dislike your family also!

quit stressing over if your going to have problems in Ohio. Yes take your meds, ask your doc about one in Ohio if needed. Are you anticipating problems their, or are you planning to have prob there? What you want to know of a doc ahead of time to make an appt or maybe wanting a diff one there to treat you. If so have your doc refer you unless you don't want either to know of the other maybe to get another opinion but then I thought you got a second opinion. Can you call your doc when your out of town, maybe not.

Gee's dayton, you really worry far to much. There are emergency rooms if needed. I thought I worried alot, but then mine is a diff worry. I can call my doc when I am on vacation he'll call a pharcy where ever I am guess maybe your doc won't do that possibly.

Go on vacation, my gosh you'll be away from both the things you dislike and enjoy/relax maybe you will feel better. Or go someplace alone away from people, maybe that will be better for you.

Dayton, if it were me I would be sure that I have enough meds to get me through the 2 weeks I would be away. If you have a flare up, I'm sure you can call your doc back home as the others have said or as a last resort go to the ER. Who knows? Maybe the 2 weeks away from all the stress at home and work will make you feel better. That is just as good a possibility as the possibility that you will feel worse!
