Hi,
I am nauseous all the time. I am wondering if it is from the blocks. I know there is a steroid in it; but I forget what else. Does anyone know what else is in it and is anyone else nauseous? Is it the disease? I also had a rash all over me this morning. What's up with that? Gotta go to the physical terrorist.

Hi Kath!

I never got nauseas when I had blocks done, but everyone's different. Besides the steroid, they probably put in a numbing med, like lidocaine which is the med that is supposed to help quiet the sympathetic nerves down. I don't know what else they put in there. If they give you sedation, maybe the med that they use for that is making you nauseas. I know that some people get nauseas when the pain is really bad. Maybe that's it?? I see you're from MA. Maybe it's the heat?? Just some ideas. I have no idea about the rash at all. Maybe someone else does. Bye.

Hi Kath, sorry your feeling that way.

I never got sick to my stomach or any rash. The only thing I would get was a terrible headache from the (stellate block )

I would ask your dr. about this.

I did get a rash, it was from the numbing agent that was used. There was nothing else they could use that did not do that to me, but we are sure it was the numbing agent. The upset tummy, could be from the sedative, I get very ill from fyntynal (not sure of the spelling, now they use another sedative for me.

Call your doc, also mention it when you go in for another block to the anistheshiologist (spelling is off tonite).

My doctor used lidocaine in my Stellate Ganglion Blocks, but I don't know if everyone does. I wouldn't hesitate telling your doctor how you are feeling just in case it is an allergic reaction. Shelley
