Hello everyone,

I'm just wondering if RSD can get into your scars? You see the scar that I have from my portacath is always hurting and it feels like RSD pain. It's really weird. One day I couldn't even bend over to pick things up because it would hurt it, and it just under my left collarbone. Why should that affect it!!!

I asked my doc but he doesn't know. I have an appt. with the specialist next week so I'll ask him then. But I'd love to hear what you guys think!!

I believe it can My scar that is on my back from my stimulator gets stabbing burning pain in it. I believe RSd can go anywhere. That is why they say that any new injury can make the RSd spread to that site.

I have heard that it can, at least scars you develope after you have had RSD.

I was talking with my doc yesterday, about surgeries that you may need thru life. With RSD it brings greater risk, I am so glad that I am not young because of that issue. I had a c-section to have my son, could you imagine developing RSD after a c-section or hysterectimy. I would not wish that on anyone......

I am having pain pump implant on July 15th, so I am a little nervous of the RSD kicking in again. I have 3 pain disorders, RSD was the newest one, BUT I think I'm in remission now from RSD. Still worried!!!!

Hi Valarie!

I had the pump put in two years ago and it is the best thing that I have ever done for the RSD. I have had many surgeries and most of them made the RSD worse. The implant of the pump did not make my RSD worse. I hope it doesn't make your situation worse and I hope it helps. If you have any other questions about the pump, I'll be around.
