When I go to my physical terrorist she bends my hand back to a 90% angle to where it is suppose to be. I can only bend it back to about a 45% angle forward and back I broke my wrist and fractured my arm Feburary 9th of this year. She kills me!!!! It feels like she is going to break my wrist. She said this is not really good for the rsd; but she has to do it or I will lose movement. Do I really care if I can't get it back that far? Will it matter? I take pain medication before I see her and it really doesn't help. She said she has to stretch it out. She's very nice. I only have a month left of phsical therapy so she is working hard. Question Is this important?

Kathy, my pain doc told me if it hurts don't do it!! I don't know about others. I don't exercise cause I'm up and down so much but I trust his judgment.

Katieswirld, easy does it is the key with RSD. My PT treats me very carefully knowing how easy it is to cause flareups!! What your therapist is doing doesn't seem right to me, but I'm not a doc.. RSD is a different animal. If I were you I would check with your doc.

hi katie,
it sounds like the muscles in your hand are atrophying, or trying to. That's what happens with RSD. I can actually feel the muscules in my legs pulling together, trying to bend my legs up, till I can't use them any longer. You have to fight it. I have the perfect solution for you. I do this procedure called Sodium Amytal Infusion. I already have it posted as a subject so just look for it and PLEASE read it. It will help you so much. It's helped me to keep walking. PLEASE READ IT!!!!!!

I can see if she does a real little bit each time working it's way up there. But if it is all in one shot, I think I would be hurting her.

That just sounds a bit to much if it is all at once .I can't even imagine the pain you feel. I know when I was in pt it was done very gradually at each visit until I reached the limit to where it was not not going to give any more.
