Limb "falling asleep" - Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy Message Board

The other night while sleeping I was re-adjusting myself and my RSD arm just went dead - no feeling - couldn't move it. It was like a tingly wave came over it, then nothing. It was fine when I first woke up. I used my other arm to move it around and a few moments later a warm tingly sensation came over it and I suddenly had feeling again and was able to move it, but it was icy cold. Anyone else ever experience anything like this? - Shelley

sorry shel, my foot is now ging crazy. you know how you leg goes to sleep and then the tingling and burning starts when you move it. that's how it feels. i'm curious to see what my doc will say today. wish i could be of more help.

My RSD limbs always are falling asleep. They don't feel dead but they constantly fall asleep.

The coldness I get all the time. There are times when my hand or feet are so cold and purple I feel like I have frost bite.

I forgot, When my hand gets real bad where the coldness won't go away. I go in and have a block and it warms it right up. The bad thing is they don't last that long.

My Ortho MD told me that my foot thinks that it is in 30 degree below zero weather and that is why you get the purple blueish color and your limb is cold. Wish I could talk to my foot. Anyway it explains why you get the cold, color and hot flashes from the body. Also the unusal sweating. I hate that the most. I mean I shouldn't sweat while typing. It's just not that physical.
