Post anyone experiencing TIAS?(mini strokes)

finally...a place to talk to others with the same health issues.let me start by saying my name is laura and my husband has rsd.he has had rsd now for 3 yrs.
thru an injury at work...after all that we have been thru i could write a best selling novel.when he first was injured he was 49 yrs.old,he ran 10 miles a day,& had never been sick a day in his life.however thru the inhumane events that occured after his injury,he now cannot walk a city block, has terrible atrophy in left leg,has short term memory loss, has had 2 seizures, can hardly see, hypertension 190/125 and this is daily ,and now he is having TIAS on a daily basis,we have been in and out of hospitals now for 2 weeks,& all test have came back normal,i feel as thought they think were either crazy or were making it up as we go.for 2 weeks now he has had these so called episodes were he will start by saying he has triple vision,he starts slurring his speech,he is very confused, sometimes can't hardly speak, numbness in left arm down to fingertips, headache, and unable to walk.these are now happening whether his b/p is low or high,& whether he is calm or nervous ..so we don't know and neither do the doc's.we are finding that he has more bad days than good,we have already settled our w/c claim last yr.he won w/c medical for life..
we also have a lawsuit on the employer...he has been found disabled it will be 2 yrs.in dec.anyone with input, questions or just helpful hints please contact me....thank you for taking the time to read this...laura

Laura,

Welcome to the Board, although I would much prefer it under better circumstances. I'm really sorry for all you're going through. I can tell it's been a real nightmare.

This is a great place to get advice or at least some caring "ears" to help lighten the load.

Keep calling doctors and looking for someone who can help. Don't bother with anybody who won't or can't. There is likely somebody out there who can help, and you just have to find her or him.

I'll keep you both in my prayers if that's ok.
Brice

Hi,

I'm sorry about your husband having RSD. I feel for anyone with this horrid monster.

Chest pains should always be checked out immediately no matter what. I'm glad he is get proper medical care.

With that said, chest pain due to RSD is quite common due to the fact that cardiac sympathetic plexus surrounding the heart is a rich sympathetic nerve structure, and its dysfunction can cause severe chest pain.

Also it is normal for some people to have seizures as well. This monster takes over our bodies and creates havoc to say the least.

I hope the doctors can help get his strokes under control and the seizures.

Hugs Destiny

Talking

Hi laura.

Welcome to our RSD family. Sorry it isn't on different circumstances.

I am glad to hear that you settled with life time medical.

I have RSD in my wrist, hand arm and legs from a work injury. I get real bad chest pains with it in my arm and neck then radiates to my chest and it is on my left side so it can get pretty scary.

Anything is possible with RSD. It seems everyday I learn of a new symtom that this nasty disorder does to someone. It makes our nervous system misfire. It will effect your blood pressure and body temp, I also have high blood pressure and my body temp is all screwed up.

If you would ever have any questions or just want someone to talk to we are here for you.

Take care
Cattys

Hello Laura-
I am so sorry to hear everything your husband is going through. I was just diagnosed with rsd/crps in april. I was injured in the beginning of march at work also. It started off as just a nasty sprain but the pain was getting worse everyday. After i switched docs they told me it was rsd/crps. Mine is in my right foot/ankle. You are sooo lucky that you were able to settle your claim with work. comp. I hate dealing with them. They always jerk me around and have zero compasion for the pain we are in. I hope things start to improve for your husband. I know how nasty this can be. I guess I am considered one of the lucky ones because mine was caught early and the blocks I get are helping for now.
Keep your head up and know if you need help with anything we are all hear for eachother.
Zim
