Norine, I sure do relate to how you're feeling. I had a little celica 5 speed, and I live 4 miles down a horrible dirt road with pot holes all over the place (it's hilly and curvy too, and it's where the accident happened, but it was not my fault at all). The road jerked my car right and left, which hurt my hand further trying to keep straight, so i didn't drive for about 5 months. When I settled with my insurancr company, I bought an automatic truck, so now i am able to drive sometimes. It's smoother on the pot holes, and doesn't jerk all over the place. But there are some days when I just can't drive, either because of the meds, or the pain. I always slacked on my meds if I wanted to drive somewhere.
If you really feel you are able to drive safely, try it. Just go around your block and see how it feels. Have someone go with you in case you can't do it since it might irritate your foot. Is your RSD in just one foot? Maybe you can work the gas and brake with the other foot. I've driven with my left foot before when I injured my right foot. It took asome getting used to, but it became easier to do. Maybe you can too. Just don't push it, you don't want to hurt yourself further.
Good luck Norine, I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for ya.
