I'm feeling thoroughly confused, as usual. I'm wondering how many of you were doing 3 months into RSD, because my symptoms have fluxuated so much. They're generally mild right now, everything from pain to color changes to swelling. After that doc told me he doesn't believe in remission, I find myself questioning just about everything. Some have told me that this is the window for recovery, so I don't know whether I'm headed there or not.. there are still days where things seem worse then others. Please share your experiences when this far along if you like, and thanks again for all of your support.
What a jerk this doctor is when he tells you he does not believe in remission! What is he trying to do, make you feel hopeless!? There are many people with RSD who have gone into remission, especially if their RSD was caught and treated early.
Hopefully, you are "only" in stage 1 of RSD. After I had RSD for 3 months, my symptoms were mild, except for the pain, which was severe to excruciating. At that
time my RSD had not been diagnosed yet so I did not get any treatment until after I met a wonderful doctor in April 2002 (my RSD was diagnosed 9 months after the injuries to my left knee/leg). I strongly believe my pain med Duragesic has put my RSD into remission. My doctors noticed this, too!
