Difficulty swallowing - Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy Message Board

Since I had the block for my arm, I think it's called a stellate ganglion block, I have noticed that I have difficulty swallowing. It's pretty scary. I am also having to clear my throat a lot because of drainage.

Could it be a side effect of the block and maybe I've just got a touch of something or other.

I get the same way. my sinuses drain and clog. I also get cramps in my throat when I swallow.

My first stellate block came across without a hitch, but the one I had last week (unsuccessful) left me with stiffness in my neck, difficulty swallowing, and I still have some pain at the sight of the injection. Dr. said he thought it was just muscular, and it has subsided quite a bit since last week. Hang in there. Cheryl
