For those of you considering the STS operation, there is an alternative. This doc's name is Rhodes and I think his associate is a Dr. Lydia and they practice in Dallas TX. There is supposed to be a web site coming up soon on this procedure. Because they are aware of what rsd patients go through, there is no charge (at least I think that's what they said), for the initial consultation.

STS is also called sympathetic therapy and it is a machine with electrical beat frequencies that is hooked up to several areas of you body. It sends different degrees of electrical charges and different frequencies to help reprogram and calm down the sympathetic nervous system. There are alot of doc's across the US starting to use it.

I understand they have had great success with it. I don't know if this is external or internal.

I'll post more as I find out. I'm sorry I don't understand too much about it, maybe others here do.

I wonder if it does what the spinal cord stimulator does. The scs sends electrical currents to the spinal cord or targeted peripheral nerve to block the sensation of pain.

The machine is external and there is info on the net about it and has been on the net for quite awhile.

This isn't something that new. The whole problem is the web site only tells of a couple people that it has helped. My question is what happened to all the other people?

Destiny, I got this information on another board but unfortunately I can't mention which one. The dr. rhodes is in Corpus Christi but the dr. lydia is in Dallas.

Hi Dayton,

I know which board you are talking about and I've been on that board for about 2 years now.

You can search the net and you will find the manufactures site with info and the studies they have done with a bunch of people.

For me, I believe in trial studies with any equipment and meds before I would take the leap. That's just me.

Believe me, there have been many very nasty arguements over the use of that machine. But to each their own. That is why not many would post to that thread on that board.

Anyway, if you want to know more. Just do a search. I wish I could post the site, but it's not allowed here.
