Post skin changes

I have had RSD in my right foot up my leg. I got blocks done in the first 2 weeks to 3 months. I haven't had any vascular changes, or discoloration or shiny skin and the temperature change isn't huge. One doctor suggested that I may not get that because we treated so early. Another told me to wait aorund and see. Another suggested that I was in remission since the sensitivity to light touch subsided quite a bit as well. If I was in remission would I still be in chronic pain? Granted its not the 9-10 that I had at first; it goes down to a 2 but it still can get as high as 8. And if I were in remission would the pain be spreading over the rest of my foot not just the right side and middle?

Does anyone have any thoughts on this?
Thanks

Dragon, I went to see my doc yesterday. See my post on dr's visit. I too am a "right footer". It gets different colors and temperatures. I am considered "atypical" because I don't have intense pain although I've had a couple of 10 days. My doc feels we might have gotten to it in time. However, the left foot and leg is starting to have that burning sensation. The doc said remission depends a lot on what stage you're in, how early it was caught, etc. Many consider a reduction in pain a remission. Not me, oh no, I want no pain, no color changes, nothing but the way I used to be!! Now that's my definition of remission!! Good luck and stay in touch.

I am to a right footer with RSD. I have had RSD now for a year and i have had skin changes from day one. it turns blue and purple, red blotchy, shiny, dry and its also getting thin. with mine and my pain, its always at least a 5 at the best! and even though i have a SCS and have had 6 blocks nad a week long epidural block nothing has helped. I am going to be in the hosp prob. next week to have more procedures done to try nad help me. MY doc is being as aggressive as i can take it bc i am 25 yo and i have severe osteoporosis in my foot and leg and he is afraid that i might end up loosing it soon. The pain can vary day by day too!! It can depend on the weather or your stress level ect. I knw that it is cold out or hot and humid it makes my foot worse.. it has to be a 65-70 out to make me happy weather wise. If you are still having the pain it seems like you are not in remission..??

I really hope the next treatments work! You sound so up and positive that you give me a boost.

I am getting burning in my left foot as well but I keep trying to convince myself that I am paranoid.

I understand what you're saying Dayton. There was so much I wanted to do that involved walking, standing, dancing but I am really lucky. The pain was so bad at the beginning, I really didn't think I could make it another day. It isn't that way now and every day I am grateful for that. But, if this is remission, it isn't totally remiss, if you know what I mean!

A friend who passed away last year used to always say "gratitude is the aristocrat of all emotions." And I try each day to remember what I have.
