Hi all,
I have been absent from the board for the last couple of weeks, been up and down like a yoyo emotionally, so have just skim read through 3 pages of posts.
Glad I was absent for a couple of them.. I felt awful just reading a couple of posts that turned fairly nasty. Such a change from the usual very supportive posts that I am used to reading here.
Anyway, I have been tried and failed on several medications since being diagnosed and failed on blocks also, during which time my RSD spread quite rapidly from the toes on my left foot up to my hip and I occassionally experience burning in the toes of my right leg. I refuse, however, to acknowledge any pain in my right foot as being able to wear one shoe is better than not being able to wear any.
My pain doctor and reseacher have recently returned from the scientific conference on CRPS that was held in Europe in August and nothing new of any real significance has been highlighted worldwide in the way of treatments so it is business as usual.
The next course of treatment for me which has been recommended by my PMD and Neuro is a spinal cord stimulator trial, which has been scheduled for the 7th of October next month. So it is a case of wait and see, but any pain relief would be a welcome change from the 8/10 pain I have suffered around the clock since I first experienced it 6 weeks after my car accident last year.
Take care all... *hugz*
