Where was I?
I know I disapperead but my 19 year old son suddenly got sick with what we thought was the flu but quickly turned into something more serious. Psoriatic Arthritis. He was feeling ill and weak. His joints were sore, mostly his left ankle, foot and knee. He had went to school, the local junior college and had came home and went straight to bed and called me at work in the morning and said his knee was swollen. My husband called me while I was driving home and said that it was huge. When I got there he had red rashes all over his neck, chest, naval, elbows, ears, neck, eyes, scalp and face. His knee was hot and red so was his ankle he had a fever of 102.8. We went to the ER and they drain the knee and the first syringe was all white blood cell, looked like puss. Anyways, ultimately the took out hundreds of CC's of fluids and hundreds of thousands of white blood cells over the next few days and finally diagnosed him with Psoriatic Arthritis. But, now that he is not in school, the insurance might not cover him. So I am waging that war now.
The funny thing is, my Shrink that I was handling this very well and there was no need to adjust my meds. So I am not so sure as to why my Pain doc wants me on the Zyprexa. The one interesting thing that has come from all of this is that my son asked me, "Mom, how do you get up each day and go to work and take care of me and do everything that you do? Because now I know how you feel and I can't figure outhow you do it.". He also said that he has a whole new perspective on things.
He has been on methatexate and some other things and in the last week and a half he has started to show some incredible improvement which is helping him emotionally.
Well, I gotta go help the kid...Thanks for letting me let lose a little.
