Well, it is official,
The insurance commission of WA has approved the funding for my fully implanted IPG stimulator unit. The implant surgery is booked for Tuesday 18th November, 8am (Monday 17 Nov, 6 - 8 pm US time).
They also approved funding for the following recommedations made by my OT:
an electric wheelchair
in the shower; a raised or extended bath board, non slip treads, flexible shower hose with switch **** and rails
in the toilet; two grab rails and a toilet seat raise
bedroom; gooseneck, foam wedges (to raise the bedhead), bed cradle and an over bed table
kitchen stool
a cleaner once per week for 4 hours
a gardener once per month for 6 hours
We have requested most of this over the last 3 months and finally, after getting me to see their doctors and getting various opinions, they have approved everything all at once. Better still, they haven't asked to settle my case yet either, so they will continue to pay all my medical bills and cleaning and gardening costs.
