Hello all,

The Dr confirmed today that I have RSD. I knew it but still I think that as long as it was not confirmed I had a chance of it not being that. I'm too tired now to think and answer posts, but you all are in my prayers. At least I'm not in so much pain, right? The elavil is working very well. My left leg now is swollen and my Dr said that RSD doesn't spread. I told him I read that it does and he asked me to bring him the article. He used to just completely ignore me, so I guess this is an improvement. IWorker's comp says I can't request a different Dr, but now with this new diagnosis do you think I could request a Dr who actually knows about this? I don't know the rules, I don't know who to trust. Has anyone had a spontaneous healing from this? Ok, maybe I'm reaching. Getting punchy, goodnight all.

Hi Jo......I'm probably not the best person to tell you what to do because I live in the UK, but you have my support, and I know the others will jump in with all sorts of useful information, having been there themselves. Unfortunately, sometimes you have to take the lead and push for what you want and think you ought to have. Really important to have a doctor who has experience of RSD and all it's ramifications.

Sorry to hear about the confirmation. I was so depressed last week when I got mine. I've been hoping for a miracle, too. Everyone is telling me to be aggressive about the doctors & by doing that, I got the diagnosis earlier and am getting the blocks earlier (first one tomorrow)which gives me a better chance. Try to see as many as you can, as soon as you can & good luck. Linda

Hi Jo,

I don't know anything about Worker's Comp, but others here do. I want to reiterate what Edna said...about the importance of finding a doc who knows about RSD---very important! I don't know if there's info that says that RSD spreads, but I would think there is somewhere. I haven't heard of many RSD patients where it DIDN'T spread.

Hi Jo. First I want to say welcome to the board. Second I want to say I'm sorry that you have RSD. It is a monster. I know from personal experience that RSD does spread. I agree with the others that you need to find a doc who knows about RSD. Where I live they are hard to find. I will be praying you have better luck. We will be here for you on your journey. You are not alone.
