Update on David - Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy Message Board

The news isn't all that good, guys. The barrister will not support the use of public funding money because he is not certain we can win the case. However David does have the Right of Appeal. That means that all the latest reports can be presented, and they have the power to grant the money. Because David is so much worse, we are pinning our hopes on the possibility that they will overturn the original decision. It is more than a year since David was seen by the Consultants, and in that time there has certainly been a deterioration. Keep your fingers crossed, and pray for him.
We are also resigned if the decision goes the other way, in which case David and my g/son will come to live with me. I would have to have my home extended, but so be it. I love David very much , and we are also good friends. He is really very good company, and we both think we would get along well together. I had always hoped he might meet someone, someone who cared for him, but then that is not for me to decide. David is still coming to terms with what his wife did. He always says...who would have me? It's really sad, but then no-one ever said life would be fair.
Anyhow, I am not giving up, and we will fight to the end.

I am so sorry to hear of your latest news. David will be in my prayers. He has one good and posotive thing on his side and that is, you.

Hang in there I really hope somthing turns around for you both. I will keep my fingers crossed my friend.

Boy I think now is the time we all need to hop on that boat and just sail away and keep sailing till we end up wherever it takes us.

Take care Edna and tell David to hang in there if there is a will there is a way.

I am also so sorry to hear about what those stupid people are doing to you and David. I will be praying that everything works out in the end-and sooner rather than later. That is great that you and David are so close. I can tell by all the things you do for him. I hope you don't mind my asking (if you do, you don't have to answer), but...did David's wife leave after the RSD? I'm with cattys, we should set sail soon-as soon as LiZZZZZZ's daughter gets better and after her Halloween party. Pack your bags, everyone!!

Edna, you and David definitely have my prayers. I'm glad ya'll are close too, maybe moving in together could be a good idea regardless of what the outcome is?

I don't know what David's wife did to him, but I am sorry that he got hurt by it. It's never easy to be hurt by someone that you love, and unfortunately it happens all too often. The vows of marrage have become simply words that you say for a ceremony, empty words... too many people don't seem to mean what they say with these words anymore, they don't speak them from their heart or soul.

I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for a good outcome for David so you won't have to appeal and the origional decision is overturned. It's a shame that the idiots that make these decisions can't be forced by some magical way to spend 24 hours in the person's whose life they are deciding on's shoes. Things sure would be different if they did.

Please tell David g'night for me, and tell him that we're all rooting <sp> for him.
