Hello...I just joined today...I have had RSD for 18+ years now...I never heard of it before my injury to my right knee. I am thankful my surgeon realized I may have this painful disease early on. It was still a difficult situation to deal with for many years. It cost me my very high paying job of 25 years because I could no longer do all the physical walking and standing required. For 2-3 years after the injury and loss of job...I felt like a loser with no future to provide.
Today...I am doing better than I ever could have imagined...I have been able to start eating better and I was never a smoker or drinker and that helps immensely. I now walk 2 miles every day...I can walk the golf course...18 holes...don't need to rely on a golf cart .... I work out three times a week... Life can be "fruitful" again!

Glad to hear that you are symptom free! Was it sudden or did it come gradually?
I was in the Hospital a few weeks back and the nurse there told me a story about her friend who had rsd for 10+ years. It had taken over both legs, starting from a toe injury. One day she was on a ladder and fell, breaking her neck. Her RSD vanished on that day and has not returned in over 5 years now.
She winked and tells me: "Now, dont you go out and break your neck!"

Aren't we all, If you could get me out of this chair it would be a very welcome miracle for me. Question, was it just in one knee? Or did yours spread at all? What did you do to make it so you can walk that far? It would be a very welcomed advice I hope you're one to elaborate on your post.
