| TTC Threads Closed - Why? - Are "Cycle Buddies" type threads okay or not?
Recently, a post was put onto many threads in the TTC board informing us to read a particular sticky stating the following:
"Please do not create a post for the attention of a specific member. Those posts get deleted. Post as those tend to go into a chat session. This is a problem specific site meaning: Post a question for advice. No chat sessions please. If you want to ask find out am update of a specific members situation, please reply to that persons old thread that you would like to inquire about. "
I am wondering if that means we also cannot have threads pertaining to "Cycle Buddies" as they are often called. Many posters on the TTC board enjoy finding out who is on the same sort of cycle as them so that they have people to "go through the experience" of trying to conceive together, possibly experiencing symptoms at the same time, and then testing at the same time. This is very similar to the threads that are made in the Pregnancy board for women that are due during the same month (an example name would be: June Mommies). On the TTC board there was a thread titled: Thanksgiving TTCers. It did not specify particular member's names to get their attention, as the sticky above has advised against. The thread had correspondence between women that were on a similar cycle that had them trying to conceive around Thanksgiving. While some sections of a post may have been a little off topic, the vast majority of our posts revolved around bbt temperatures, problems trying to conceive, ovulation prediction tests, and pregnancy testing.
While the Thanksgiving TTCers thread has now been closed, there is another Cycle Buddies thread on the board that has not been closed. That is what makes me wonder if Cycle Buddies type threads are okay or not. And if not, then how are they different then threads on the pregnancy board for women that are due in the same month?
Thank you for your help! I appreciate being able to aslk these questions instead of risking posting something that is against the rules.
