(To respond to an Infraction PM may require using email.) Do not discuss PM on the boards or blogs for any reason.
Do not email or post to ask for PM access. Not every user wants private communication. When PM is off respect their privacy without discussion.
PM terms of use - On the boards/blogs, do not offer, discuss, or request PM from members for any reason. Doing so will be treated as advertising. If anything you share is reported as advertising, undesirable or inappropriate, your membership may be terminated without notice.
General info - Members with the Newbie title do not have access to PM. Member titles change automatically according to the number of posts. Once you have the PM option, to enable your own PM click on "MY Settings". Under Settings & Options, click on Edit Options and choose your settings.
Then check to see if the other user has PM available. If not, do not try to PM that person.
Do not assume PM is desired by other members.
When PM is On, PM that member one time. If your PM is accepted by the member, then ask the member's permission before sending any kind of information.
