Post "reputation" post?

I don't know what I did. Maybe I misclicked something. But after I posted something I got a pop up saying that my post got "reputation". And that I now have "40 reputation". What does this mean???

Reputation means that other members approve of your posts. In the lower left of your post there are little icons. One of those icons looks like a set of scales. Like the scales of justice. Members can click on that icon and then choose either to approve or disapprove of your post.
