Good morning everyone! Something bizarre happened to me yesterday. I was having a particularly bad day yesterday; feeling sorry for myself, a little crying. I decided to lay down and take a little nap, hoping to wake up feeling a little better. When I was napping I was having a dream only it wasn't like a normal dream. I felt very much awake and very much aware of my surroundings. In the "dream" I was crying, leaning against the counter in my kitchen. Someone put their hands on my shoulders and kissed me on the cheek. I turned to see who it was and it was my (dead) grandfather. I literally felt his hands and kiss and it startled me so much I jumped up off the couch. It really shook me. I've had dreams of my grandparents before and they were nothing like what I experienced yesterday. My grandfather and I were very close. I really feel like it was him visiting me, trying to comfort me.

I guess my question to all of you is do you believe in "ghosts" or persons who have passed visiting us? Has anything like this ever happened to anyone out there?

Totally! When my grandfather died I was on vacation and my mom didn't want to call and ruin it so she waited until the day i was coming home (a day after he passes) anyway when i was laying in bed crying myself to sleep that night i felt like someone was giving me a big bear hug and i heard my grandpa say i love you. i woke up comforted and i just burst into tears again cuz i was so happy. i was really unhappy about not being able to say goodbye and my grandpa sensed that and came down to help ease my pain. that is totally possible in my mind. isn't it an amazing feeling? To have your granddad as your guardian angel always there for you when ever you need a helpong/comforting hand

Yes, Red, I believe your grandfather offered you comfort. Whether it was his ghostly form, or memories or what doesn't matter. It was comfort that came out of a loving relationship. I do believe we retain a connection to our loved ones, that we carry them with us always. I do not know how to explain it, but then I can't explain the theory of relativity either, and that doesn't stop it from being true.

I have had a couple of dreams like that regarding people i have lost - my father, my best friend, etc. It is something that gives me hope, or something. I think of it as positive, anyway.
I also believe in precognition, so perhaps I am a little flakey in my beliefs. I used to read palms a lot, just to get to know people. Found out that it can be a little creepy how much one can learn from a person's hand - especially the ones who are very sceptical. Many times I amused myself by freaking out someone who thought I was just "reading the mark". comes in useful sometimes.

Absolutely! I have had numerous dreams of my dead grandfather over the years. He died when I was 13 and I am 42 now. I miss him today just as much as I did the day he died.
I totally think people we love that have died visit us in our dreams. I know that when he comes to see me, I always try and hold on to him and don't want to let him go. He stays with me awhile then kisses my check and says he has to go. I hate that part!

I heard of similar things happening to other people, but not me. I, too, was very close to my Grandpa (was his favorite granddaughter), but I almost never have dreams about him. Pretty much never, even thought I think of him often. He was my father figure since my parents divorced when I was only 2.

But my ex fiance said that when his dad died, both him and his mom were having vivid dreams of his dad visiting them and hugging them and giving them comfort. He described the same thing that the dreams were very realistic and he would remember his father's embrace when he woke up.
