Red face I have a slight problem :(

Hi everyone

I'm hoping some of you can help me with this issue I'm having. My husband and I are trying to conceive, however we haven't told anyone this. It has only been about 3 months since we started trying so it could be some time before I actually get pregnant.

Thing is, my brother & his wife just had a baby in November. She is 5 months in a few more days. Anyway she is so CUTE! My problem is that my mom and dad watch her 2 times a week. My dad is always buying stuff for her. Well, everytime he buys my new neice something, he buys me the same thing in a neutral color (for our future baby) but my parents don't even know we are trying!!!! My husband thought it was weird when one day I came home with this yellow and white bib that said "not right now I'm eating" and this miniature mug from Harley Davidson for a baby. He was just like "that is weird..." So I hid the stuff away and didn't say anything.

Well today I went to my mom and dad's house real quick to see my baby neice on my lunch break and there was the huge Easter Bunny. It is so soft and cute. It is like a mint green color. There was a pink one there for my niece. My mom says to me "Oh your father bought that one for you" I said "for me??" and she said well, "For your baby" I was like ***!

I'm already having preconceived notions that I may not get pregnant and now my parents are getting gifts (mostly my father) and they mean well, but what am I going to do with this big bunny when I get home??? My husband is going to say how weird it is....

*big sigh*

Any space under your bed? Those under-bed boxes are great. BTW, just take the gifts and smile. You're lucky to have such supportive parents. If you don't get pregnant, you can recycle them, surely one of your friends might have a baby soon.

Re: I have a slight problem :(

Well, I think if I were in your shoes, I'd bring the bunny home with a big smile and tell hubby the truth, that you haven't said a word to anyone about the two of you trying to conceive, that your parents are just a little over zealous, wishfully-thinking grands, and maybe they're tuned in to something and know something you don't! But don't psyche yourself out. It's not so weird for your parents to hope that you'll have a nice family, too. Keep your chin up, think positive, let your parents have their wishful thinking, and have tons of fun trying to conceive!

Goody agrees with Nini I really think it is cute how your dad is doing this....he just wants you not to be left out and knows that it's just a matter of time for you two. My sister in law would put together all kinds of stuff for her future children...they tried for over 10 years and went invitro had a set of fraternal that way and then went on to have another identical set al natural and then one Now they have 5 beautiful girls and my brother is surrounded by his women plus a female dog. When I went to help out with the second set he came in with bags & bags of multiple size diapers and I laughed invisioning him 12 years later coming in with all the feminine products He laughed and said....."yeah when you think about it I'll have 5 daughters PMSing and a wife going through menopause all at the same time Just had to share that one with you

Enjoy this time trying to conceive, I know it's difficult seeing other family members with children but it will happen for you too......Goody

Talking Re: I have a slight problem :(

thanks goody and nini

U both make lots of sense. I went up to my co-worker and was talking about it also with her. She said that maybe I should try looking at it from a different point of view and sharing this with my husband...here is what she said, tell me what you guys think:

She said I should realize my parents are both 71 years old. They have 9 children and I'm the youngest. I'm the only one with out a baby. Maybe before they pass on they want to see all of their children's children????

I know my parents mean well and they aren't doing it to be pushy or rude. I just don't know how to get my hubby to see it.
