Hi, everyone! Just checking in-it's Salty

Hi!!!! I've missed you guys. I'm okay---He's in jail.

I've been wrapped up in myself lately for a change and finally needed to come to the boards for health reasons.

I've been getting headaches every day. Had everything checked out, don't have a clue what's up.

Migraine meds work great, but you can't take them everyday. They only come in packs of 9 per month and they are expensive. I posted about maybe being able to break the pills up, although it says not to on the label.

I seem to have put on even more weight (comfort food I guess). I did finally move the exercise bike to the exercise room, so maybe I'll make it on it soon.

How's everyone? I haven't had time today to read all the posts. Hope everything's okay. It's been so long since I've been on the boards. I really have to catch up!

I think a lot of it was that I didn't want to be reminded of all "that" so I stayed away for awhile. I hope I didn't worry anyone too much.

I would love to hear from you guys. I'll never forget how much you helped.

Love,

Salty

Re: Hi, everyone! Just checking in-it's Salty

Hello my old friend!!
First off, if your med is a time released kind and/or it says right on the label not to split them, then it can be REALLY dangerous to do it. Not even just in half!
Your best bet is to call and talk to your doctor's nurse - tell her you are getting "x" number of headaches a month and your prescription is only for 9. Have you had any other tests yet - like an MRI or CAT scan? Do they know about your relationship and what has happened to you? Some of that could also cause headaches and problems.

I've been pretty lousy myself... My brother-in-law of 30 yrs has rectal cancer, responding well to chemo but it's still considered Stage 4 & terminal. After my Dad's death from colon cancer 4 yrs ago this has been a real shock to all of us.
I've been feeling sorry for myself because Mr. Ruth is working so many hours and end up writing less on here lest I whine!

I can't tell you how encouraged I am to hear how you are. A few comfort pounds are good for you! (chips & Mtn Dew for me!) and HealthBoards is always good for a chance to maybe help someone else and gain a little self-eteem!!

Salty, make a pledge to stop by more often! You have so much to share, and so much experience in some of the relationship areas...

Hi, Salty Don't you ever feel afraid to come back here and say hello to your friends. We are soo glad to hear that you are still away form him and that he is in jail where he belongs. I know you have such bad memories but I can hear it in your post how well you are doing since you decided to walk away. We know that it wasn't easy but are proud to see that you are continuing to take the steps towards a life of happiness that you deserve.

I am sorry to hear about your migraines. Hopefully they will find something that'll bring you some relief.

Thanks for popping in....you made Goody's day. And Salty, part of the healing process comes from helping others who are in abusive relationships and helping them to find the courage to walk away just like you did.

(((HUGS))) ~ Goody

Re: Hi, everyone! Just checking in-it's Salty

I missed you, Ruth. So sorry about all the family troubles. I'll say prayers.

I just found out today (by an answering machine message from the Dr.) that there was something wrong with my last blood work-up.

I'm done crying, can't do that anymore or my head will explode.

I'm just waiting for her call. She wants to retest. I pray to God it's nothing. I don't want ANYMORE meds and I don't want anymore problems now.

We all have them though, don't we?

Take care of yourself. I'm starving, but so scared I'm anemic or diabetic or something that I'm afraid to eat!

l/Salty
