Calling the Ex
i've really struggled with gaining the self control to stop contacting my ex... well i found something that works... i know it's irrational, but. everytime i have contacted her in the last 2 months, something bad has happened.. i.e. i visited her, then that night found out my Gf at the time was pregnant to another man, my car broke down 3 times leaving me stranded in the middle of the country.

well that should have been a warning sign, but other things include:

comforted her because her grandma got diagnosed with cancer... girlfriend and i split...

called her to say hello... current girlfriend and i pretty much split (but salvaged)

sms'ed her from the snow trip... car broke down in the snow and the current GF's mum got put in hospital

SO... it's been 3 weeks and i've avoided contacting her.

sound healthy? i don't think so

Seriously, whatever works to keep you from calling the ex is good, even if slightly irrational!

I prefer to think that you are being given plenty of signs that she is on the wrong path to be choosing...
I was in a relationship like that. Everything bad that could happen did. As soon as we finally called it quits things started going o.k. again. Not that life didn't continue to happen along with some bad stuff - it just wasn't a STRING of bad luck!!!!!

calling(or sms) an ex is so hard. i've learnt the hard way. now from my experience(which you can all see wheni finish writing the novel of a thread) i won't ever be contacting my ex its just more harm than good.
