Endearing names for a guy...

Okay so you know how men will call women honey, sugar, cutie pie, babe, sexy, etc. What are some endearing names for a guy? I have always struggled with this. Any ideas or input would be great. Thanks!

Re: Endearing names for a guy...

Sometimes after spending a lot of time with a guy you come up with names for each other based on your time together, what you've learned about each other, a private joke that comes up. My husband and I have little nicknames for eachother that are endearing - and they are nothing like the common ones. Usually after a while it falls into place, just keep spending time with this person and it will probably happen naturally. Just go with what feels right.

Ha, interesting! My ex-boyfriend despised all kinds of "cutesy" names--he thought they were for a child too! LOL. I think it was more of a turn on to him to be given complements about how smart he is or something about his body, but he particularly hated being called any kind of sweet names. I guess not all guys are into them. It's weird but I think now I would feel somewhat uncomfortable calling someone all these "cutie pie," and "baby" stuff...I got brainwashed, I guess.

My husband and I call each other "bay" (short for baby). We've done it for so long that we're not even aware that we do it. I hadn't even thought about it until I read this post! I agree with one of the other posters that you sort of come up with endearing names after spending time together and go through different experiences.

Re: Endearing names for a guy...

Well, when my BF and I first got together he would send my e-mails and IMs and he'd call me baby and sweetie and all that but when we were face to face he never called me anything but by my first name and finally it was just ******* me off...it felt cold to me and why did he call be sweet little names in letters but addressed me by my first name in real life...so we had a big talk and I think he too had been brainwashed by an EX and felt uncomfortable actually saying it outloud...but now he calls be all kinds of sweet names and he really does like being called Cutie Pie because I suppose when you get 50 and bald you like all kinds of compliments...heehee!!!!!!!

I call DH Muffin, Baby Cakes, Hot Stuff, Hon, Honey, Babe, Baby, Sweetie...unless something's wrong -- like a snake in the pool or a rat in the garage. Then it's, "SHAWN!!!!!"
