Problem with control issues

My son is going w/a girl & she is pregnant, he loves her & she loves him but her mother is a problem. She doesn't make a move without talking to her mother. The mother controls everything she does & it's driving him crazy. They are both 19 & even when they discuss the baby he winds up saying, where do I fit in here, everything is "my mother said" Has anyone ever had a problem like this, does it change or is it always the same?

Re: Problem with control issues

First of all, is this your son's child?

I'm assuming this girl lives at home and is maybe even being financially supported by her mother in some way. Since your son and this girl are going to have a child together, they need to get a place of their own, support themselves, and then that way maybe she won't be so attached to/dependant on her mother.

Re: Problem with control issues

Yes it is his child, the mother helps her abit but she does alot like clean while mom works & drives other kids in family around plus works p/t. It's hard for him since he's young to pay for everything & the rents here are so high but he wants to get her out of there. She already mentioned if she moved she would go over every night w/the baby to her mothers. It's like the mother does all the thinking for her, I think it's gonna be very hard for him.
