Should I still get her a gift - Relationship Health Message Board

If you refer to my other post, there was this girl that I liked. Long story short, she likes some other guy. Funny thing is last night I had a dream about her with some other guy I didnt know, and before that I kind of had a feeling she didnt like me at all. Oh well. I give up.

But should I still get her a Christmas gift? Its more of a "thank you" give because about 3 weeks ago I was in a car crash and it screwed up my hands and out of all the people I knew only 4 of them took the time to ask me how I was doing and she was one of them. 6 abrasions on my right hand, 2 on my left, along with two swollen fingers. Hurt everytime water got on them, and everytime I tried to move them because the abrasions were on the knuckles

Or should I just drop it and let her be?

Hey, it's up to you. There is never anything wrong with wanting to thank somebody and do something nice for them. Just as long as it's only because you genuinely want to thank her, and not because you expect anything in return.

I personally would not give her a gift. While asking about your hand is very nice of her, I dont think it justifies buying her a gift. You already know she doesnt like you so buying her a gift will just show her you like her and makes things awkward.

Now that I think of it, I have never heard of someone getting a gift because they asked about how someone was doing. I think the main reason is because you like her. Even if she did like you, shes into another guy right now so getting a gift would just complicate things. Wait to make a move until after she gets over this other guy.

In my experience whenever I gave person a gift to thank them even if it is Christmas, Hanukkah or there birthday they always felt obligated to give me gift as well. If person short of money it became a burden not a pleasure.
