How do I help fiance deal with anger to save relationship?

We have been together almost 9 years and have 2 beautiful kids together. He has always had a temper since I have known him. His friends used to tell me how much calmer he was around me, which worried me because he always seems so stressed. Well now I understand what they were talking about. He snaps at every little thing. He is constantly frusturated or angry at me or his life, which believe me isnt that bad. I try and tell him that and it makes him more angry. It is starting to have a negative impact on our relationship and I am starting to question if I want to stay with him. I suggested he see a counseler or go to anger management but he refuses. What should I do to support him to get the tools he needs to address this before he loses everything?
