Question Boyfriend is cold and distant

My boyfriend of 2 years is cold and distant. The first 4-6 months of dating he would look at me so adoringly and smile and laugh alot, but now, all he does when he comes home is complain and is always irritated and has a frown on his face.

When i don't see him, he constantly texts me and says he misses me and always wants to come over to my apt and be with me, but then when i do see him, he seems annoyed by me.

Whats going on? If i'm so annoying to be with, why does he want to around me so much? I've asked him about it and he denies he's miserable adn says if he is its just the strain of his job and not me.

Any suggestions?

Re: Boyfriend is cold and distant

honestly, I was (am) dating my girlfriend for almost 4 years now. I went through (what sounds exactly like) what your boyfriends doing. I missed her so much when I was without her, but when I was with her I just didn't care. I honestly think your boyfriend is telling the truth when he says its his job. I had the most stressful time for a bout of time with my job, and it really takes a toll on your emotions. Being women, we deal with it a little differently, but guys take stress a different way. Just be there for him, it's all you can do. Maybe you two should talk and give each other advice. Just because you're dating doesn't mean you can't be friends.

I think this is right on. It may be time to tell him in a nice way to get a new job so it doesn't interfere with your relationship.

Re: Boyfriend is cold and distant

My guess is the honeymoon is over, and your seeing the "real" him. Some people just have a crabby, moody sort of a disposition towards life. If it's becomming a problem for you, it may be time to rethink things.
