Hello,
Would it bother you,hurt you or make you mad if your husband/wife..boyfriend/girlfriend didnt buy you a gift for Christmas?

I guess...if it were a husband....I would be rightly upset if he didn't get me SOMETHING...even just a card, a flower...something, to show that he cared. I am not big on receiving material items, but all the same, I would like to receive a letter or card with a sentimental blurb on it, rather than a gift. And..if it were my bf...the same thing...I would be happy with some acknowledgement of the holiday, whether it be the smallest thing..a flower from a garden, a handwritten note, a home-cooked dinner...whatever! I just want to know that they care. If you have not been seeing the guy for very long (i.e. a week or whatever)...then perhaps it is not unacceptable, although *I*, personally, would have gotten the other person something. I guess it depends on what you're comfortable with. Gifts, themselves, don't represent anything..it is the thought behind them that counts.

I agree with Bobbee if it was my husband maybe I would be hurt...Well yes I would be. I am not materialistic either but just something to say hes thinking of me on this day would be nice.
A boyfriend it would have to depend on how long I was with him. If he was recently new I wouldnt expect or get him anything either. After all Xmas isnt all about gifts is it?

Hi Bobbee and Autumn,
I asked this because a friend told me last night she was severly hacked off at her husband because he didnt get her anything for Christmas.In a round about way he did because they just got a new vehicle(for her),yet she said it would have been nice if he got something from the Dollar Store for a dollar OR even a card...He always wants to know what he got before its time to open gifts and he must always have expensive presents..

I got my BF a kind of lame, funny Christmas card.He did not get me anything and it doesn't bother me at all.To me , Christmas is not about giving presents its about Jesus being born to be the savior.
