Does race matter to you? - Relationship Health Message Board

I have dated quite a lot of guys from different backgrounds, but I have to admit that most of the guys who ask me out are of Spanish heritage. This seems to be the trend in my part; no surprise there, considering that I have a hispanic blood (partial). So this makes me assume that certain people prefer their own versus someone from another culture. I like all guys

Any opinions?

i am of latin heritage.
my husband is an anglo all the way back to the ark.
i've dated chinese, black, mixed race, asian and arabic men.
i've actually never dated another latin.
i'm involved in my own culture, our children have been baptised in my church, speak my language.
i am also english and i was born here and embrace it.
i know people(even family members who live here and don't speak english!)
the area i was brought up in has such a concentration of us, that you could spend your life using our cafes, shops, even mechanics and tradesmen, never even talking to an english person!
i guess i've rebelled against that by making a conscious decision to be friends with other cultures.
i've found that a lot of my male contempories still stick to the old ways, despite being born here.a quote from my dad who i adore is:"2 women in the house and no clean ashtray!"(he's the only smoker!!)
i just dated who interested me.
i found dating boys who i knew from babyhood incestuous.
it's a mixture of things.
most of my age/race group here, the girls are involved with black/mixed race guys, the guys with english or other latins,(from home!)
now that would make an interesting pyschology paper!

I'm hispanic, filipino, and thai (mostly I'm just filipino though, I'm only like 5%-10% hispanic) and I would not say that I prefer asian guys. In fact, I've only dated one and it didn't last very long. I'm mostly attracted to mexicans. But pretty much it doesn't matter, as long as the guy is cute and has a good personality.

I am white and at various times have been attracted to black, hispanic and asian women as well as white women.

I have dated men of different backgrounds, as well. I am Caucasian, and I have dated men who are Asian, Philipino, African-American, and Caucasian. I am finding, more and more, that I prefer Caucasian men.

I have seen studies where women (and they haven't proved anything about men yet) base attraction more on a person's unique scent/pheromones. Women tend to be more attracted to people who have similar (not the same, as this would be wierd!) genetic makeup to their own. I'm not sure if this is true for all women, but I can see this playing a role.
