| Re: Rls????
Wiggy - Where is this tingling prickly burning sensation? In your legs? In your neck? In your arms? You didn't say. When does it occur? Mostly at night? Day or night?
I'll assume that it is in your legs, since you posted on the RLS board. If it runs down the side of your legs, since you say you've had a bad lower back, I'd say it sounds more like sciatica than RLS.
I landed in the hospital in traction for four days in 1973 due to severe spasms in my lower back, and I was totally unable to walk. Though I never had a test to confirm it, the assumption due to my symptoms was that it was a disk problem in my lower back. My doctor forewarned me that I would probably need disk fusion within ten years. He was absolutely shocked that when I left that area 17 years ago, I still hadn't needed it. I still haven't. (I suspect my arthritis has fused it!) However, I do get sciatica every once in a while when I'm not careful with my lower back, when I over-do working in the yard or something. It is pain or a tingly feeling shooting down the side of my right leg. The only two solutions I've found have been a muscle relaxant and bed rest until my lower back "calms down" again.
