Your doctor might prescribe you 0.125 mg of mirapex at the start, then depending on the severity may increase your dosage to 0.25-1.5 mg. Hope this helps.

Sincerely,

Re: average mirapex dose

I have been taking 1 mg for about 5 years, but my doctor increased it to 1.5 mg last week. I hadn't complained about it, but he could see my legs kicking all around during my appointment. I didn't even know I was doing it!

I started off with .5 mg, after results from a sleep study, and went from there. Best to you...

Re: average mirapex dose

I have had RLS for years now and have tried a lot of meds. It seems like, after I take them for awhile, the dosage has to keep getting increased. Currently, my doctor has me taking .5 of Mirapex. It seems like the more tired I get, the more my legs jerk. There's no way I could not know it. Sometimes I try to control it, but then my leg will just jerk on its own and I will usually end up kicking something. For years, even my family knows when I am tired and will say that it's probably time for me to go to bed. Also, it's not only at night that it happens, but lying down on my stomach does help somewhat. One doctor told me I probably don't have RLS, since it is usually at night (at least that's what I've been told), but instead have Periodic Limb Movement.
Either way, it still drives me crazy, even with the dosage of Mirapex I am taking now.
