Magnesium and iron for RLS

I'm 66 and just started having RLS the last year. It wasn't often, maybe 3 or 4 times a year. Lately I've been working with a chiropractor for daily headaches and my RLS has flared up. After reading many of the past post, it appears that magnesium and iron tablets should be added to my diet. Do these work for you? How much should I take of the iron tablets? Someone mentioned 1,000 mg of Magnesium. What kind of Magnesium? I have some Magnesium Glycinate 400 in my cupboard, would taking 3 of them work? That would be 1200 mg 300% of daily value.
