| Has anyone else had success with Astaxanthin?
I've suffered from RLS for about six years. I guess from reading on here, mine is not that severe, but like a lot of others on here, has certainly impacted my rest, well being and especially my comfort. I've tried a LOT of things suggested by others. I have exercised, stretched, worked my calves at night and many other suggestions. One thing that has DRAMATICALLY helped me was something I didn't even know impacted RLS when I started taking it. I started taking about 10mg of Astaxanthin per day. I took it just because it's supposed to improve overall health. It's a antioxident, ten times as powerful as betacaratene. After about two weeks of taking it, my wife noticed, I no longer had the night time "twitchies" as she calls them. I hadn't even noticed the first couple of days. Now, I NEVER had RLS while watching TV at night. This is the first time in years. The astaxanthin is the only thing I can think of that I've changed. Last couple of weeks, though, my wife has said that while sleeping, I've had some problems with RLS. I've read that there is some scientific research going on for MS and astaxanthin, so it makes sense. Also, I've read that astaxanthin helps you process iron better. I do also take a daily iron supplement as well. I think I'm going to go to 20mg per day and see if that eliminates all symptoms all together. You can get it online for fairly reasonable.
