Hi Freddie!
RLS is one of those odd syndromes that they really have no idea what causes it. My best suggestion to you is given by way of personal experience. Originally I just thought I was hyperactive, I'm always in motion my husband claims - even when I'm sleeping. I finally went and has a sleep study done (just to hush up the hubby)and was diagnosed with both sleep apnea and RLS/RLMD (severe).
The only 'cure' is medication, I'm afraid. I found the prospect of taking pills every night for the rest of my life just to get a decent nights sleep depressing to say the least. But, gave it a try (again, to preserve the peace with hubby). But, gotta love that hard headed man of mine - he was right.
3 years later, with my CPAP and Klonopin I lead a better quality of life than I had ever thought possible. I am physically and emotionally more stable, and have energy to get up and do! I quit my desk job (that exhuased me daily) and opened a one-woman wholesale nursery!! Hard work, and I go to bed tired and get up refreshed. I wish you the same.
