I have had RLS for as long as I can remember. Sinemet was a Godsend. However, I started to build a tolerance to it. To lower the tolerance I went to Permax. Both work great. Sinemet is a little easier to take and it works faster. Permax is a pain getting on it. You would have to start with low doses and build it up to where it is effective. Getting on it invloves a nausea, dryness in the mouth, stuffy sinuses, headaches, tiredness, etc. Don't hurry to get up to an effective dose. But once you are up to an effective dose, this is a solid medication as far as eliminating the symptoms so you can sleep. Good sleep hygiene helps as well. Also, if you are not able to fall asleep within fifteen minutes or so, get up and move around for a while. Stroke
