Just self diagnosed
I just found out that since I was at least 12 years old I have been suffering from RLS! I can't believe so many other people are affected by the exact same thing! When I was younger I would try to pop my ankles because I thought that was what was causing the discomfort. As I got older I thought it was a pinched nerve in my lower back so I would stretch my entire spine to try to rid myself of the need to move my legs. I'm sorry so many people suffer but, I am happy to know I am not alone!
With some of the research I have done I am going to try a self treatment that will include the following:
5-HTP supplement which increases serotonin
reception in the brain (@ GNC)
Calcium/Magnisium supplement which I need to prevent
osteperosis anyways
Iron supplement to increase Iron
Horse Chestnut to increase circulation in the legs
which also helps prefent vericose veins
I'm also increasing my exercise and limiting my Caffeine.
I will let everyone know how this works for me! I just wanted to say thanks for being there and for making me feel better and not so alone! I dreaded sharing a bed with anyone because I was so restless and now I can work on trying to calm the sensations!
