I gave birth to my beautiful daughter in October (I'm 34 now) and just started experiencing symptoms in May. The discomfort and sleepless nights went on for weeks, consisting of crawly legs and a faint queasiness in my stomach just as I am about to drift off. Has anyone else experienced that? I've been okay for about a month and a half. The last couple of nights have been bad again. I just had my first menstrual cycle since the baby. Am wondering if that is connected?

Some John Hopkins medical researchers believe that RLS is caused by neurological iron deficiency, so it's in keeping with their theory that the RLS would be worse when your body's iron is being reduced by going to a baby or your period.

Ask your doctor to check your blood ferratin levels. They should be > 50 mcg. RLS websites will list additional tests you might find helpful.
