OK, so I'm a little desperate! My hubby has the mother of all cases of RLS. He's been to all the experts and tried all the drugs. Even went to a "neurologic chiropractor" who did tons of really weird things to "retrain" his brain in an attmept to stop the spasms. I'd take him to a ***** doctor right now if I thought there were a breath of chance it would work!!
Sharing the bed with my partner is like spending the night in the microvave with a jumbo bag of Jiffy Pop! I get kicked out of bed (literally) EVERY night. We now sleep in separate bedrooms. Let's face it, that cuts way down on some of the more amusing activities of partnership. Here's my actual question---
IS THERE A MATRESS OUT THERE THAT REALLY IS NO BOUNCE? You know those commercials where the one partner places a set of blowling pins on one side and bounces the ball on the other and they don't fall down? We've tested every mattress on the market and have yet to find one that actually works! HELP!! I want my sexlife back!!!!!

I feel so sympathic to your problem. In my case, I'm the one who shakes and quakes all night, so my husband is as sleep deprived as I am.

A friend of mine recently bought a foam mattress. They're sold as "space foam", or "memory foam". They feel completely unlike any other mattress. (My friend likes to compare the density of the foam to pudding, and oddly enough, it's an apt description. Choose your own flavor...) Your body sinks into the foam, but doesn't disturb the space around your body. So if you move, it's localized and can't be felt too stongly elsewhere on the bed. They're quite expensive, but they might be worth investigating. Many bed stores have floor demos you two could test together.

We actually saw a commercial for that type of mattress the other night and ordered their "free information booklet and sample." I absolutely abhor those ads BUT I also abhor sleeping in separate bedrooms!! I guess you can imagine what a disruption this has caused for us. It's gotten so much worse over the years. It's hard to find a doctor who will take it seriously and even then there seems to be so little they can do. We've tried sooooo much but nothing works for long. I find myself becoming angry with him and it's really not his fault. This disorder is like Tourette's of the legs!!!

Well, we got all that info on the foam mattress in the mail and guess what? For a king size it'll cost $2000 PLUS shipping-- OUCH!!! They do offer a trial period but I don't know if it's worth it. I'd happily shell out 2 grand IF it were guaranteed to work. NOTHING else has.
ANYBODY OUT THERE HAVE ANY ADVICE???

The only thing I can come up with is to put two extended length twin mattreses on top of a king sized box springs. It might work....
